“May this tournament inspire friendship, unity and sporting excellence around the world.”
For the unversed, the ball, called Trionda, was designed by renowned German sporting goods manufacturer Adidas and manufactured in Pakistan.
It features red, blue and green colors, with symbolic elements from each host country: maple leaves representing Canada, an eagle for Mexico and stars symbolizing the United States. A triangular motif also emphasizes the unity of the three countries.
In addition to the design, the ball contains the most modern technology. Deep seams aim to provide optimal stability in flight, while embossed icons improve grip in wet or damp conditions.
A motion sensor chip transmits ball movement data to the video assistant referee (VAR) system, improving match analysis and decision-making.
