Adjustments to the Chinese storefront of the App Store on iOS and iPadOS – Latest news

Apple is making changes to the App Store in China after discussions with the Chinese regulator.

Starting March 15, 2026, changes will be made to the commission rates applicable to the Mainland China App Store on iOS and iPadOS.

The commission rate for standard Apple in-app purchases and paid app transactions is 25%. Currently the rate is 30%. The commission rate for qualifying Apple In-App Purchase transactions under the App Store Small Business Program and Mini Apps Partner Program, and for automatic renewal of Apple In-App Purchase subscriptions after the first year, is 12%. Currently the rate is 15%.

It is not required to sign the updated terms before March 15 to benefit from these changes to commission rates from that date.

We aim for iOS and iPadOS to become the best app ecosystem and provide great business opportunities for developers in China. We are committed to providing terms that remain fair and transparent to all developers, and to always offering competitive App Store rates to developers distributing apps in China that are no higher than general rates in other markets.

The Apple Developer Program License Agreement has been revised to support updated policies. That’s possible log in to your account to accept the updated terms.

Translations of the updated agreement will be available at Apple developer website within one month.
